Understand why users engage less with WhatsApp Status. Identify motivations, pain points, and define the Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD).
๐ค Hypothesis
- We believe the lack of creative content options (e.g., filters, music) is limiting user engagement with WhatsApp Status.
- We believe the current visibility of Status updates is too low, resulting in fewer users interacting with them.
- We believe frequent WhatsApp users do not see the value in creating Status updates because it doesnโt align with their communication habits.
- We believe users are unaware of the benefits of Status for personal expression and updates.
- We believe the Status feature could increase engagement if WhatsApp offered better discovery options (e.g., notifications or reminders).
- We believe the lack of differentiation between WhatsApp Status and chat notifications causes users to overlook Status updates.
