Want to bring in the existing 3D Buildings or geospatial vector data from the map to inform your design? This is the guide for you!
Right click on any map feature and mouse over it from the pop up list. You can review any data attached to that shape in the left-hand tool palette.
Use this technique to quickly add context to your projects.
Create lines based on roads from the map, then apply the Roads usage.
Create building outlines from the map, then apply community and residential usages
Add parcel outlines from the map
Plan for historic flood extents by adding the outlines from the map
Right click on a map feature, then click “Create”
Complicated or overlapping map features can be merged for better performance.
Follow the steps above. With the first section still selected, right click on an adjacent piece of geometry. You will now have the option to “Merge.”
After geometry exists on the map:
Select existing geometry on the map. (Shift + click to select multiple features at the same time)
Select a Usage from the list in the left-hand properties palette.
Suggested Usages:
If you want to exclude geometry from calculations, use the “Context” usage.
if you want to include it in calculations, use any appropriate usage that describes the type of feature (IE Residential for an apartment tower, or Industrial for an agricultural building)
Click ‘Add new Property” in the properties palette or the Usages editor.
Geometric features also inherit the following properties depending on the Usage type:
Features can be controlled with these properties.

💡 Some properties only work for features that are rendered in the SVG overlay. Features can be moved to the SVG overlay by setting the property svg
to true
