Axillary Artery

The axillary artery is divided into three parts by the anteriorly positioned pectoralis minor muscle. The first part is proximal to the pectoralis minor, the second part is posterior to the muscle, and the third part is distal to the muscle.

Conveniently, there is

  1. one branch that arises from the first part of the artery,
  2. two branches that arise from the second part, and
  3. three branches that arise from the third part.
