Hayden doesn’t enjoy any type of party.
Anything evolving loud crashing music that stings your earbuds, the stench of alcohol that fills up your nostrils, worst of all, people making out at the corner.
Surely he wouldn’t be here without a reason, if it weren’t for his colleague tricking him by saying that they would attend a proper dinner party that won't involve any wild party. Still, instead, he was dragged to a club, leaving him stranded while his colleague hooked up with his girlfriend. Hayden decided to look for a seat, concealing himself from any interactions or maybe leaving the club sooner, leaving his colleague to brush off his mess alone.
“I fear you never volunteered coming here, don’t you?”
Hayden lifted his head, meeting a stranger with bright tosca blue hair, a scar was visible on his left cheek, somewhat looking like a fighter on the alleys. He didn’t reply, yet he kept staring at the tosca-haired person. “No…” He trailed off a little, eyes still locked on the latter
snap
The tosca haired person snapped his fingers in front of Hayden, realizing how his mind doze off in front of him “Forgive me, I didn’t mean to-” The latter chuckles, his hand reached towards Hayden, offering a glass, “It’s punch, I don’t drink alcohol anyways” Hayden took the drink from his hand and offered him a seat, before he realized, since when he let strangers invade his space?
“I feel it’s common for prosecutors to doze off with some girls after a long day at the office sorting criminal files and evidence for the court, but you seem like you should’ve not been here” He spatted, Hayden rolled his eyes “Yeah, if it wasn’t for my colleague, I would’ve just gotten home and cook something good” The latter chuckles again, “You,” The tosca-haired turned his head, facing Hayden who’s also staring at him “What brings you here?” The latter sipped his drink, “Oh, I just came to help my pal prepare some drinks for the customers, since her boyfriend hasn’t come for the shift, she asked me to aid him for a while.” Hayden nodded, yet both of them fell into silence, busy with their thoughts
Hayden was the one who broke the silence, tilted his head as he asked, “How did you know I-,”
“A prosecutor? You have that name tag, silly, you haven’t changed your outfit, even kids could recognize you.”
“Oh…” Hayden took his name tag and shoved them into his pocket, flustered at his actions
“So Hayden Santos,” The latter hung his words, “Where are my manners, I’m Kaio or Kai, sir.” He smiled teasingly, Hayden chuckled, without realizing he smiled, “You just made me twice as old.” Kaio laughed, “Am I meeting an old man right here? You don’t seem like one.”
“I’m 32.”
“Old”
Hayden laughed at the insult, the first time he had quite a joke around someone
“You?”
“27, sir.”
“Not even far.” Hayden sipped his drink, pointing at Kaio, “You’ll face that phase.”
“Still younger than you, sir.” He replied teasingly
