Chapter 1: Prologue
Pursuing of Dreams, Granted For All
A story about an academy for Uma Musume in The City, where The Seed of Light Shined for 7 days
This is a story of Yayoi Akikawa. When she was 12, She decided that she wanted to help a lot of people pursue their dreams, because it has been made possible by her parents, Ayin and Carmen. They were successful researchers in District L, where they changed the world for the better.
They started their lives as a mere humble researcher in a place called The Outskirts. They were keen on neuroscience, fascinated by how the human organ of the brain works using electricity and generating electricity to express emotions, store thoughts, and make a decision. All of those features only cost the brain a lot of glucose. Thus, Carmen thought hard about how to generate a lot of electricity using only the brain. She discovered an injection drug called Cojito, extracted from the spinal fluid of three animals combined. She then injected Cojito into a horse. To her surprise, the horse becomes very powerful, and when spinal fluid was extracted from said horse, she discovered a fluid called Enkephalin that could generate energy for the lab for a day, and further gather more Cojito for injection.
Ayin suggested to Carmen to try using the injection on humans. But before such extreme measures were done, she decided to combine Cojito with many substances that are more familiar with humans. Because the brain works using sugar to create electricity and water for spinal fluid, she decided on a good combination for humans. Cojito plus Mannitol bolus injections that are given through intravenous, with additional infusion of Dextrose water infusion. Using this combination, Carmen injected the new Cojito into her fellow researcher called Enoch. The results were spectacular. From the spinal fluid extraction, there were double the enkephalin gathered.
Using this result. Ayin made a contract with the higher ups of the city. He got an opportunity when the Smoke War occurred. He wanted to secure a huge lab by owning a district. With such promise, the Smoke War concluded and he owned a wing of L district, creating Lobotomy Corporation. He promised every citizen of district L a rent that’s 20% the price compared to the highest rent cost across The City, in exchange of getting their spinal fluid extracted every week. A deal that’s surprisingly not every citizen of The City is fond of, but a good deal nevertheless.
When Ayin, Carmen, and their team of researchers acquired District L, they had a great thought. If people’s brains were fascinating, then why are people so laid back? Then they decided the reason was violence, especially proven in the aftermath of the Smoke War. It is a strong brain but unable to harness full power and causing them to be violent. Carmen nicknamed this condition ‘The Disease of Mind’. So they decided they want to change the world. They planted a mustard seed in the middle of District L, and everyday they nurtured the plant using Cojito extracted from the leftover of Enkephalin that generated The City’s electricity. 14 years later, the mustard seed grew a radiant golden strong tree. Then the tree emanated a ray of light to the sky, creating a phenomenon known as White Nights and Dark Days.
When the first ray shined, Ayin proposed to Carmen, they decided to marry right on the spot. And by the 7th day, everyone in the city had their mind cured, and everyone had dreams. The Backstreets of The City, used to be known as violence, it’s gone. People found out that everyone has dreams, thus the best thing to do is to help each other pursue their respective dreams. Both Ayin and Carmen, now given the space of The City to dream, were fond of Eastern Culture. Thus from that inspiration, they named their first daughter combining their names, Yayoi Akikawa was born.
