USB 3.0 is known to emit electromagnetic interference (EMI) in the 2.4GHz spectrum, the same frequency band used by:
Research by Intel shows that USB 3.0 controllers and cables can radiate broadband noise from 2.4–2.5GHz, particularly near ports and unshielded connectors. This EMI can degrade signal quality, cause tracking loss, or lead to pairing issues with SteamVR trackers.
Thankfully, using USB 2.0 cables and ports mitigates this, as USB 2.0 operates at 480 Mbps and does not emit significant RF interference in the 2.4GHz range.
