1. RESEARCH & EARLY DEVELOPMENT

Starting the Unit

We came back after the break and started our second unit for the course. At the beginning of the unit we went through the brief, looked at examples, and started learning more about what would be expected from us over the next few weeks. Straight away it felt like this unit was going to be split between two sides: the practical game development side and the essay/writing side.

One of the first things we got introduced to was Twinmotion, which is a piece of software focused on building and prototyping environments with strong visuals. At this point it already felt useful because I’ve always been more interested in atmosphere, environments and visual storytelling.
