At Slice (https://www.sliceit.com/), a sudden change in government regulations rendered our core product, a credit card based on the "Buy Now, Pay Later" model, unusable. Worked on designing the transition experience, with two other designers, Mudita and Junaid; helping users navigate from the discontinued offering to a completely revamped product, introducing two new models: Slice Mini, where users can open a pre-paid account, and Slice Borrow, where users can access loans from Slice.
We adopted an all-hands-on-deck approach, rapidly testing and iterating on both small and large design changes. Through continuous feedback loops and real-time experimentation, we were able to significantly reduce churn by 45% compared to our initial estimates. Our iterative design strategy proved crucial in retaining a much larger portion of our user base than anticipated during a time of major product disruption.
