For example, People of Color (POC) experience restricted access to basic needs such as healthy food and social peer pressure.

Since the Industrial Revolution, mankind has experienced vast improvements in our way of living. Our day-to-day life has become more comfortabe and efficient. Businesses continue to pose a threat to the environment’s degradation as they continue to extract a significant amount of natural resources. Likewise, individuals generate a significant amout of waste from overconsumption. The result is pollution, climate change, and other environmental issues which current and future leaders need to deal with.

As the usage of social media grows, so does the information and data we feed it, allowing companies to draw better and better profiles of their consumers. The misuse of personal data remains an important social issue resulting in controversies which implicate our right to privacy.
In the US, debates over healthcare policy are quite controversial. COVID-19 has exposed shortcomings in the healthcare system. For instance, there are significant disparities in distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to minorities compared to their white counterparts. The US’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has accentuated these disparities and created controversy over the effectiveness of the policy.
