I wanted this asset to be fun. I wanted it to be a nod to the vintage nature of Beers, that is found within the store, the old logo, and the reimagined logo I made. The initial sketch that I made (←) ended up being abandoned almost entirely once I started creating digitally. I had a lot of ideas I thought could go in and would be really fun or cute, but then as soon as I began to digitize my designs I realized it wasn't quite going to work the way I had thought. I had included things that I could have probably made work, but I wanted the elements to somewhat represent everything else I had made in the touchpoint journey without being complete copies of every other element that I used in other touchpoints.

I used a few bookmarks I found as reference. I wanted some newer ones, as well as some older ones. I like the older ones because I loved the vintage elements. pulled the border from both of the ones on the right.

I really wanted to make a duotone bookmark (two colors) but with the elements I had, it just was not quite working. I loved how busy the bookmarks were, and that busy-ness/chaos is something I associate with used bookstores. However, I did want it to feel somewhat modern and match with some of the other touch points I created for Beers Books. I appreciated how minimal some of the other bookmarks were, so I did want to incorporate that as well.

I ended up creating two bookmarks in the end. The same design, two different color ways, but using the brand colors I've been using this entire journey. I really liked the books that I created for one of the posters for the last touchpoint, and I wanted to bring them back into this touchpoint, so they didn't only appear once. I used a rounded rectangle as a border, which I'd been using the entire journey, but used the outline instead of a filled version. It was also a nod to the vintage/retro bookmarks I

found as reference as well. I used a condensed version of the typeface I had been using the entire time, since it both fit better and was again a nod to the vintage type. I really liked the simplicity of having just the book motifs and the store's contact information. I was originally going to mirror the top and bottom of the bookmark, which is why the top left corner has a flipped and upside down Beers Books logo. When it wasn't working how I wanted, I left it at that because I thought it was interesting and made you want to look a little bit harder at the bookmark. Overall, I really enjoyed this touchpoint, and the way that it turned out in the end.
