****iPad+Apple Pencil with the Procreate app.

If you want your work to look just like Topia, use their pencil brush at the smallest size, and try making art on a 1920x1080p document.

As an alternative to the Apple ecosystem, Photoshop is always a great choice on PC and Mac. Pick up any Wacom drawing tablet and you'll be off to the races with the Topia Photoshop Brush pack. If you subscribe to Photoshop, they also throw in a ton of Cloud Storage, which really comes in handy for all the file's you'll be making and sharing.

All the assets are made at resolution. Which is why we work on documents that are 1920x1080 so I can get a feel for how something will look on screen.

The internal assets are made with pure black. I use a bit of a lighter touch most the time. If I make a line that looks nice but feels a bit too dark, I hit it with a little bit of eraser (which is the same brush but... set as my eraser) just to fade it out a tiny bit.
