The best way to build an audience is to contribute to a community. Too many people worry about "networks" - places like Twitter where everyone has to build their own graph. This isn't great for newcomers with no followers. It's basically impossible to go from 0-1.

Instead, join communities, find the ones you like, contribute to them, and eventually start your own community.

Not everyone needs to contribute or create, but you do if you want to build an audience.

Start with community: Clubhouse recommends you rooms, casual audio-only drop-in conversations, based on the people, interests, and clubs you follow.

Where are your people? Spend some time finding them.
