When Creating Passwords…
✅DO:
- Create complex passwords with a mix of uppercase (A-Z) and lowercase (a-z) letters, numbers (0-9), and symbols (!@#$%^&*).
- Use a different password for each account.
- Enable MFA, or Multi Factor Authentication, whenever possible for an extra layer of security. This will request a second verification method in order to log into an account.
- Make the password long or use short phrases like “people are good”
- GOOD Example “Peop1eRgood!”
- At least 12–16 characters long
- Does not use personal info (like your name, birthdate, or pet's name)
- Not a common word or phrase (like "password123" or "qwerty")
🚫DO NOT:
- Avoid common words like “password” or “123456.”
- Don’t include personal information like your address or name.
- Don’t use the same password on multiple accounts and websites.
- Don’t share your password with others.
- Don’t store your passwords somewhere easily accessible (like on a sticky note right next to your computer)
- POOR Example “johndoe123”
