We enjoy a lot of freedom and responsibility at Luscii, but one thing is required: you have to take personal time off.

We know it can be hard to be away from your colleagues and the inspiring work you are doing, but we also know that is essential for you to take breaks in between the sprints of work. We want you to use time off to reload and you decide when and how to consume this. We want you to think about what your body and mind needs instead of a quota. How does this work? We kick off with the practical side of things and then dig into the idea behind it.

<aside> 💡 Luscii “unlimited vacation” policy: You can take as many personal or vacation days, as you want, as long as you complete you work.

Unlimited vacation policy

• The minimum required holidays you must take per year is 16 days (based on a full time employment). We will nudge you when we see that you don’t take enough, but it is your own responsibility.
• We are required to register holidays by law and Hrvey gives us a way to track them. So you must still enter your holidays in Hrvey. This also gives a good overview of who is where and when.
• You must agree on your time off with your direct colleagues well in advance (but at least a week).
• More than 3 consecutive weeks vacation will be seen as taking a sabbatical, so we will count that as unpaid leave (after the first three weeks).
• A consequence of not having any vacation days anymore is also that we don't 'pay out' leftover days when you leave Luscii.
• Update you slack status, and choose an icon that best represents your new status (🌴 , ☃️, 🥨, 🏕, 🛁) and indicate when you will be back.
• In case of conflict or unclarity regarding the policy, the Compensation Oracle will make the final decision.

National Holidays

• We stick to the commonly used national holidays ~8 days per year.
• This is a guideline. If you have other national holidays you observe (eg Eid al-Fitr Suikerfeest, ending of Ramadan) feel free to work or be off when you want.
