FFIP - Friends and Family and Interested Persons (previously referred to as 'Open Meetings'): Al-Anon meetings that allow attendance by people who are not families/friends of alcoholics, but who are interested in learning about Al-Anon Family Groups. People who may come to open Al-Anon meetings occasionally include students and professionals who work with alcoholics and their families.

FFO - Friends and Family Only (previously referred to as 'Closed Meetings'): Al-Anon meetings that are limited to members and prospective members (newcomers), giving them the freedom to share and listen to the experience, strength, and hope of one another on a confidential and anonymous basis.

Alateen - All Alateen meetings are 'Closed' meetings. Only Alateen members/newcomers (children and teenagers who have been affected by someone else's drinking) and Area-certified Al-Anon members who are screened and trained to serve as Alateen Group Sponsors attend and supervise.
