Idea 1: An app that will hold all your identification cards

My idea for this would be an app that stores all your Identification cards on your phone. From there, your phone would act as a 'master key'. So where as something like Apple Wallet focuses on Bank cards and travel passes, This app will focus on securely storing your identification cards. This includes cards that grant you access to specific areas based on your identity. So think gym cards and employee cards.

Pros

• Simple but effective idea
• Our phones are becoming an extension of us. Having them act as wallets also seems like the future
• There are a number of different applications for this app
• Everyone has some number of cards on them at anytime. This fact will allow for a larger target audience. Specifically look at people who lead a minimalist lifestyle.
• This could have some positive environmental impact due to the decrease of printed materials
• Losing a card would be a thing of the past. However...

Cons

• ...Losing your phone, would not be a thing of the past
• What would happen if your phone died?
• storing things digitally on mass can have some negative environmental effects.
• What would the potential for a data breach be like?
• Implimenting this app in the real world would casue a number of issues

How would it work?

I think this would primarily work as a mobile app. I can image it having a corresponding website that would function as a security measure so that if you lost your phone, you could log on to the site and completely lock the app on your phone.

Companies could sign up to have their business work within the app. So say a new office opens in Belfast and they have a keycard access system to allow employees to enter the building. Instead of handing out ID cards, the company would encourage its employees to add the card to their wallet and use their phones as the access card. The app would use something like A QR code or similar to work.
