SPECULATION

At first glance, my pixel art may look like a QR code.

Let me explain how it differs.

Irreversibility

The message that forms both the foundation and the very image of my SPECULATION pixel art is converted into UTF-8–based decimal and binary strings, exactly as the sentence finally determined and originally written. During this process, I removed all byte-level delimiters and concatenated every bit sequentially without any spacing, expressing the Irreversibility of a word once spoken, as no code can be executed to restore the text to its original form once these delimiters are removed.

This measure serves as a means to instill a stronger sense of responsibility toward my own words and actions, prompting me to be more deliberate in the way I express each message.

Furthermore, the final image is permanently inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain, and the original text file of the message—once timestamped and archived—reinforces the authenticity and weight of the statement itself.

Of course, one cannot always speak with perfect logic or flawless correctness. We all strive for perfection, yet no human being is truly perfect. Still, this practice stands as a personal commitment to speak within a realm where I can remain accountable and provide reason for what I express.

Non-Instant

Grounded in the underlying concept of Irreversibility, my pixel art does not reveal its message Instantly. At first, only the title is presented, inviting each viewer to spend their own time in reflection. The message is then disclosed later—unchanged from the state in which it was first finalized and written.

Because the removal of byte-level delimiters renders any code-based decryption impossible, the message cannot be decoded directly from the image. Yet through the original text, the decimal or binary sequence can be cross-verified for authenticity. This process itself represents the experience of confronting another’s intent that cannot be grasped at once—a quiet metaphor for human communication.

Even between people who deeply understand each other, unspoken assumptions often lead to misinterpretation. If something remains unsaid, it can so easily be misunderstood—like the unseen movement of a swan’s feet beneath a calm lake. My pixel art, when seen only as an image, is much the same: its meaning cannot be immediately known.

Thus, revealing the original message after a lapse of time becomes an act symbolizing the necessity of speaking directly—of making one’s inner meaning visible in words.

Layers Beyond the Visible

Although my work may appear, at first glance, to be nothing more than an ordinary QR code, what I wish to convey is that beneath its visible surface lie numerous unseen layers of meaning—hidden, intertwined, and continuously overlapping within one another.
