- ⛑️ The individual is underperforming - This means this person’s performance needs urgent improvement to meet expectations for the role. At this point, the performance (culture is also performance) is perceived as too far away from the basics of the role.
- 🛠️ Performance concern - This means this person is not consistently meeting most expectations for their role, and there are specific, identified areas where clear improvement is needed. This status highlights a need for focused intervention and a plan to address those gaps, regardless of their tenure. It is not the expected evaluation for someone who is simply new to a role and learning.
- 🌱 Developing - This means this person is in development in the role, already covering the basics of the position but there’s still ground to cover. For people with <6 months, this is the expected evaluation if the person has met expectations given their tenure (naturally, still learning on the role). The exception here would be someone who has consistently surpassed expectations since day 1 and for some reason was exposed to complex challenges in this position since month 1.
- ⚙️ Meeting expectations - This is a great evaluation - It means you’re performing well and according to what is expected for your seniority. Sometimes, this person can also surpass expectations for some variables but doesn’t exceed expectations for most of the variables for the role.
- 🚀 Exceeding expectations - This means this person is an outlier, exceeding expectations for the most of competencies and behaviors expected for the role. People with this evaluation are more likely to be recognized through salary increases and/or promotions.
