Do you know what is Charlie Mungers dream school's system?

A school based on pilot training pedagogy.

"The failure rate is 0.005 per 100,000 flight. They've clearly figured out how to train people effectively." He said.

It made me think.

Why ?

You probably already know that learning is a system. (if you don't, you can read my article on "how to learn anything").

It means that what you put inside your brain conditions your actions. (Input = Output)

In our case, what "comes in" are sources of specialized knowledge.

So, the best way to become great at a skill is to simply learn from the best or learn from actual real life situations ; hands-on (they are the best sources of that specific knowledge).

But, who are the best people to learn from ?

It's always the same : people that have the most skin in the game in that particular skill.

Because when you take a huge risk, you must developp the best kind of strategy.

But, how do you know if a job has skin in the game for one particular skill ?

To connect a skill and with an activity, you must ask yourself one important question :

What is the job/activity where this skill is vital ?

What kind of job/activity requires you to be excellent at this skill because if you're not, you generates huge consequences like life and death ones.

This is where it became clear.

Pilots can't go down. They'd kill 250 passengers.

They need to be good at flying.

That's why that's the best schooling system.
