ARCADION [AU]

WRITER’S NOTE:

Writing is in RP format between Tashi/Khian & Cillian.

The Brute Abominator left both Rahdis and Haku weary after the sudden ambush in the Arcadion. The fight itself left Rahdis in a frozen state of fear due to his past trauma, leaving him out of commission for a few days, which prompts Haku to go check on him. When Haku confronts him about what’s going and why he’s feeling so unwell, Rahdis finally decides to open up and tell him about his dreams regarding his village and Azeyma’s mysterious presence. It’s not until now in Rahdis’ life that his former rival ultimately informs him what happened to the Twelve, and what this might mean for the two of them for the future.

The silence was the worst of it.

Not even the flames that didn't touch him. The too bright, flickering lights that made his stomach sick. It was the silence that had engulfed his dreams with fire for months now.

Usually, Rahdis heard the screams and the cracking of wood. Sometimes it was even a clock ticking. The never ending sound of running footsteps on a hard floor even though no one near him was alive anymore. He was trapped in a cube of fire and couldn't do anything against watching other people around him burn to death. He didn't have these exact dreams for a while but the fight against Hector's abomination form had pulled them up so fast that Rahdis couldn't even exactly remember how he had left the burning, caved in building and reached his apartment in Solution 9. He guessed he had walked there with Haku. They both could walk out of that fight but he couldn't imagine any conversation after that, not completely. He must have appeared like a zombie, a scared zombie that needed to hide. He did remember that he vomited out his breakfast before he apparently went to bed and exhaustion and sleep claimed him. But besides that? Nothing.

Nothing but the nightmare that found its way back into his mind and was as silent now as other similar dreams. No more torn voices. No more cryptic messages and screams and ticking clocks.

He stayed in bed the whole day because he had no energy to really get up. He actually needed to check on Haku but hoped he was alright after the fight. Rahdis had tried to keep the tiger out of the fire and get at Hector's flanks that were dangerously close to the burning walls. It had come subconsciously to Rahdis. To use his immunity to work together with Haku. He had to admit that they had become a good team over the last few months. Like two stubborn gears, finally finding their rhythm to run smoothly next to each other without scraping any of their edges. Slowly but surely.

With a sigh he buried his face into his pillow, tried to think of something else and keep his mind awake to not fully fall asleep again. It was hard for him to allow himself to fully rest, but right now he had no options. He couldn't get out there and appear troubled by something he himself didn't completely understand.
