so good, it completely changed the way i view how people operate!
tl;dr:
people can operate in 3 perspectives:
- future-focused: thinking about your vision, planning for the long term, delaying gratification; this is good for career success but bad for relationships
- present-focused: being hedonistic and present in the moment, going with the flow, doing whatever feels like at the moment; good for relationship and memory making but bad for long term success
- past-focused:
- positive: being grounded and getting confidence from by past experiences
- negative: being nostalgic and reminescent of the past
there’s a default way of which our brain operates, gotta be aware of that.
the key to happy life is to have a balanced perspective and being able to toggle between different modes of operating
