Hello there,

this newsletter brings exciting updates from the world of FANTOPLAST Circular Design to your mailbox. We mail these issues irregularly trying to keep it interesting and meaningful. Plastic recycling is not just trash talk! Fear. It. Not!

We have remained silent, but we have not stood still.

Since the launch of the Artist Edition Open Call in January, we have reviewed twelve ambitious project proposals and realized an exciting collaboration we can't wait to launch. We pulled off an exhibition at the Project Room Garage of the Museum Hundertwasser in Vienna (along with a series of school workshops), worked on 30+ commissions, created several prototypes for upcoming projects, and took rotating short holidays—though we'll probably need more before summer ends.

Everything happens, and keeps happening fast.

ON ROADMAPS AND JOURNALS: THE CIRCULAR DISPATCH

As a small team of five juggling the company and our other jobs, we too face our share of challenges. We sometimes struggle to track short and long-term goals, hold regular structured team meetings, and reflect on all that happens—which doesn’t mean we don’t actually do all this things, on the contrary. All just happens in unconventional ways that don't use the business-oriented language typical of growing startups. We still haven't managed to install a door to our office, giving the place I'm writing from a distinct Colosseum* vibe.

(*Since the Colosseum lacks doors and windows, Italian mothers commonly scold their children by reminding them they are NOT at the Colosseum and should therefore close doors and windows when leaving a room!)

Anyway, as the Germans here would say: „Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn" ("Long story short"), we're seeking new ways to share more about our ongoing projects, as we sometimes forget how important it is to tell the stories behind them. That's why with this issue we inaugurate The Circular Dispatch, a long-form newsletter series featuring interviews and deeper insights about projects we've initiated alongside our regular business, as well as challenging and interesting commissioned projects.

You will find an archive (as soon as there will be one) of all issues on this mini site, which we hope will eventually feature much more than just this newsletter. But for now, small steps!
