👋 Hi! Here’s a page full of the Buyerarchy of Needs in almost every language anyone has ever asked me for. Don’t see yours and need it? Let me know! What is this thing all about? Well, it’s a chart that has sort of taken on a life of its own — a rule of thumb for trying to consume less in the world. Of course people love to debate the layers and suggest movement all the time, which is fun to see. These are my layers, and I’ve got them in this order from a resource-intensivity perspective, but I love when people interrogate it all to see what works best for them.
The Buyerarchy first appeared in my book, A Bunch of Pretty Things I Did Not Buy, which is available at cute libraries everywhere.
