Overview

The Barn is a Chrome browser extension that displays a personalised, gamified news feed on your new tab page. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect

Data you provide directly

• Your role description — a free-text sentence describing your job, entered during onboarding
• Your interest tags — topic preferences you select (e.g. Programmatic, Retail Media)
• Your topic selection — which animals (AdPaca, ProDuck) you choose to follow

Data generated automatically

• Reading activity — which articles you have read today, stored locally in your browser
• Streak counts — how many consecutive days you have read articles, stored locally in your browser
• Anonymised profile hash — a non-reversible identifier derived from your role and interests, used to cache personalised summaries on our server. This hash cannot be used to identify you.

Data we do NOT collect

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your browsing history outside of The Barn
• Any personal or financial information
• Precise location data
