<aside> ❓ When you work in an office, new hires mostly just need to know when and where to show up Day 1, and you can take it from there. When your team is fully remote, there's a bit more info to manage up front.

Sending a pre-boarding note to kick off the process is a helpful way to reduce overwhelm, address any too-obvious-to-think-to-ask stuff about joining a remote team, and sets the tone for open and clear communication moving forward.

What happens next?

💌 Company email

We'll send you instructions for your new company email address between now and your start date. We are eagerly getting things ready for you, so you will likely see some activity in this inbox.

Please don't feel obligated to regularly check it or act on everything you see show up just yet. Leading up to your start date, the only thing we expect you to spend time doing is getting excited! 🥳

Anything urgent or requiring immediate action is listed here in this doc, or will be marked a such!

💸 Gettin' paaaid

We'll send you an invitation and instructions to Justworks, our PEO platform. They handle payroll and benefits for us. Please complete signing up, and follow the steps to fill out the necessary tax forms and bank information. Do this sooner rather than later, so we can make sure you get paid!

You have a bit more time to get your benefits set up, so we'll cover that with you on your first day.

🕚 Set your work hours

Full time employees work 8-hour days (around 35 active work hours per week, factoring for lunch and breaks each day).
