Data

Generation Process

The algorithm that generates temperature profiles is mostly straightforward, but considers many things. Here are some of it's characteristics:

• Uses a full year of data if available, otherwise as much data as possible.
• Captures samples when equipment is running or not running.
• All samples must be at least a certain duration to qualify.
• If there are multiple zones, no other zone can be active at the same time for a sample to qualify.
• Ignores 30 minutes prior to comfort profile changes as active sensors change over that period of time.
• Ignores auxiliary heat.

Common Issues

No temperature profiles

Sometimes beestat can’t generate a temperature profile. This may affect all profiles or just some. Here are a few common reasons:

• Just Installed: If you have only had your thermostat installed for a short period of time, there may not be enough data to build a complete profile. Usually a couple weeks is enough to get a profile, and at least a month helps improve accuracy.
• Short Runtimes: Beestat does not capture data from short (< 10 min) runtimes as it tends to be inaccurate. It takes time for temperatures to settle, so only longer runtimes are included.
