Over the past few months, and especially in light of the Heritage Connector & Congruence Engine, London, 3 August 23 held at the Science Museum, we’ve been noticing a connected, but individually distinct group of investigations emerging that we are keen to cohere in some way. Whilst each investigation will do their work relatively independently from each other, this page is designed to enable everyone to have at least, a general overview of the other investigation’s aims and objectives, and the sorts of data they’ll be working with (with full acceptance that this may change either slightly or significantly).
The plan is:
Automated collections linkage - 21 Nov 23
Investigations
Weaving Heritage Collections through Embeddings Project Proposal
Exploration of LLMs to map large heterogeneous datasets
Graphing Diverse Textiles Data with IndexGPT: Investigation Notes
Ongoing work to understand how these technical investigations can be rooted in the realities of institutional data creation, enriching and sharing practices. Kunika, Jamie, Arran and Alex to do some active thinking on this.
