Problem Statement:

<aside> 💡 COVID-19 has disproportionally affected underprivileged communities leading to high unemployment rates. In the most underprivileged Costa Rican community, La Carpio, the majority of residents are facing terrible economic conditions working informally as domestic services or servants. By no fault of their own, they have been laid off in large numbers, some of them not able to regain their jobs back after the pandemic. Our problem statement focuses on how to provide education for employability such as agriculture, apprenticeship, and administrative skills for La Carpio's residents over 15 years of age using the method of social sustainability.

Program Feasibility and Accessibility:

Nicaragua, is the main source of migrants and a significant share of informal labour in the agricultural sector. Informal labour is growing in the agricultural sector, increasing from around 50% to 60% of total agricultural labour in 2014 (INEC-ECE, 2016).
