Overview: About Us
Problem Statement
Village women in Nyoma, Ladakh currently rely on kerosene and the burning of dung cakes for cooking. The use of dung cakes for energy has deprived the soil of nutrients needed for agricultural growth, and the use of kerosene is a major fire hazard and produces noxious fumes causing dizziness, headaches, and nausea. The main problem is the reliance on kerosene and dung cakes for energy usage in cooking because of the fire risks, negative health conditions, and lack of agricultural yield it causes.
