Step 1: Pin the Extension for Quick Access

After installing from the Chrome Web Store, Tax Audit Shield might be hidden in your extensions menu. Go to chrome://extensions, Pin it to your toolbar for one-click access.

1. Click the Puzzle Piece icon (🧩) in the top-right corner of your Chrome browser.

2. Find "Tax Audit Shield" in the list.

3. Click the Pushpin icon (📌) next to it. The shield icon will now appear directly in your toolbar.

   

   

Step 2: Open the Side Panel Audit Interface

Tax Audit Shield operates entirely within a dedicated browser side panel, allowing you to view audit results alongside your other work.

• To open: Simply click the Blue Shield icon (🛡️) you just pinned to your toolbar. The side panel will slide out from the right.

• Pro Tip (Shortcut): You can customize the keyboard shortcut to toggle the panel. Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts, find Tax Audit Shield, and set your preferred key combination (e.g., Alt+S ).

• Activate License (Bottom Area): Use this section to enter your license key for unlimited batch processing.

  

Step 3: Drag & Drop Your First Form 8879

Let's perform your first audit. The side panel is designed for speed and clarity.

• DragZone (Top Area): This is your main workspace. Drag one or multiple signed PDFs (Form 8879 or 1040) directly into this green dashed area.
• Validation Checklist (Middle Area): Once a file is processed, this section will expand to show detailed compliance checks (e.g., SSN masked, signature present).

Action: Try dragging a signed 8879 PDF into the DragZone now. The audit will start instantly.
