Tattoo Aftercare Care Instructions

Thank you for trusting me with your tattoo. To ensure your tattoo heals correctly, it is important to follow your aftercare instructions.

Hand washing is the single most important method of reducing infection. Hands must be washed prior to touching the tattooed area. Wash your hands in warm water and liquid soap, always dry your hands thoroughly with a clean towel or paper towel.

Daily Aftercare

• For the first 24 hours keep the area dry to allow the skin to begin to heal and reduce infection
• Wash your tattoo gently with clean hands, warm water, and mild soap, pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel
• After 48 hours apply a thin layer of aftercare balm twice daily (e.g. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, Hustle Butter, continue for 14 days or until fully healed. Only use creams from clean, in-date containers.
• It’s normal for your tattoo to be red, slightly itchy, or lightly flaky in the first week.
• Healing usually takes 4 weeks, depending on placement and skin type.

Avoid:

·       Baths, hot tubs, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms for 7 days.
