β€œThere’s a power in allowing yourself to be known and heard, in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice. And there’s a grace in being willing to know and hear others. This, for me, is how we become." β€” Michelle Obama

<aside> πŸ’‘ This guide is intended to give you enough information so that you begin forming a clearer picture for your career at Whereby, should you choose to of course.

To help you along, you'll find guides to the three pieces which build our progression framework:
πŸ“ˆ Levelling πŸ‘£ Tracks πŸ”§ Competencies (this page)

This is by no means an exhaustive guide to how to progress your career here, but should be used as a tool to understand how we think about our roles and responsibilities so that you can have informed discussions around career opportunities in the team.

Each level in your function comes with a description, and an illustration of the type of ways of working, behaviours, impact, and skills we believe are most reflective of a Whereby team member at that level. Crucially: This meant to be used as a guide and not an exhaustive checklist.

Levelling

Our levelling framework allows us to compare and understand our roles and responsibilities within the team at a high level. This means we have a broad understanding of what to expect at any given level from a Wherebyrd just learning their craft to an executive.

Career Progression Tracks

We know there are many ways to grow and progress beyond just managing people. In a start-up we want and need to encourage people to develop their careers in lots of different ways. For these reasons we have 3 'tracks' for your career progression and you can be on any available track, progressing along the path upwards, or moving horizontally between the competencies where your interests take you.

These tracks are there to guide your approach to skills-building and growth.
