Premium users can turn any in-app message into a survey.

B.Layer uses the appboy.bridge technology to upload user information from an IAM to Braze.

You can see the survey results in your campaign analytics in Braze, when clicking on the arrow below "Button Clicks".

Use cases for IAM surveys are countless, with use case surveys, questionnaires, NPS, and more.

No need for third party surveying tools anymore, these surveys look native, keep the users in the app, and allow easy retargeting.

Turn a static IAM into a survey

  1. Edit the IAM you would like to turn into a survey.
  2. On the right end side, switch the toggle from static to survey.
  3. A field appears prompting you to enter a custom attribute name. This will be the reference of your survey in Braze. Write a custom attribute name following your Braze custom attributes naming convention.
  4. Confirm the edition ✔️

→ Users will answer the survey by tapping on an IAM button.

→ The button's CTA will be the survey answer. In the example below, if the user taps on the Restaurants button, then "Restaurants" will be saved under the custom attribute "Survey n°1" in the Braze user profile.

→ There is no development intervention needed to create the custom attribute. The in-app message will create it for you in your Braze account as soon as the first user or the test user taps on any of the survey buttons.

Special case: input-text field IAMs

If you are editing an IAM using a template with an input-text field component, then the flow to turn this IAM into a survey is the same as above. However, on the difference of buttons surveys, the input-text field value (the text written by the user) will be the custom attribute answer, not the button CTA.
