Quick fixes (most issues)
- Update the app to the latest version on the App Store / Google Play.
- Restart your device.
- Open Steppi and keep it in the foreground for 10–20 seconds to refresh.
- Check time & date settings are set to automatic on your device.
Steps not updating
iOS (iPhone / Apple Watch)
- Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness and ensure Fitness Tracking and Steppi are On.
- Open Health app › Browse › Activity › Steps › Data Sources & Access and confirm Steppi has Read permission.
- If using Apple Watch: open Watch app › Privacy and confirm fitness tracking is enabled.
- Background App Refresh: Settings › General › Background App Refresh › On for Steppi.
- Widgets/Complications: open Steppi once, then long‑press the widget and tap Edit to re‑select Steppi if needed.
Android (Google Fit / Device Sensor)
- Ensure Google Fit is installed and you’re signed in (if Steppi is reading from Fit).
- Open Google Fit › Profile › Settings › Manage connected apps and verify Steppi has access.
- Disable battery optimizations for Steppi: Settings › Apps › Steppi › Battery › Unrestricted (wording may differ by device).
- Ensure Physical activity permission is granted to Steppi.
