Welcome to the official support page for LiGHTBOX. We’re here to help you get the most out of creating and sharing stunning HDR images.
LiGHTBOX is a creative mobile app that transforms your standard photos into brilliant High Dynamic Range (HDR) images that truly pop on HDR-capable screens (like modern iPhones). It’s designed for artists, photographers, and anyone looking to add a touch of magic to their pictures with vibrant light, cinematic effects, and even hidden messages.
LiGHTBOX offers three (and growing) unique filters to unleash your creativity:
“Transform your photos with vibrant colors, rich contrast, and stunning depth. One tap to wow.”
This is the basic filter of the app. It analyzes your photo and intelligently boosts the brightness and color in the highlights, creating a vivid, lifelike image that feels more immersive. You can use the HDR Intensity slider to fine-tune the effect from a subtle enhancement to a dramatic, glowing transformation.
“Add a fierce, cinematic shine to every stare. Spark. Shine. Dominate the frame.”
This powerful filter automatically detects faces and eyes in your photos and adds a customizable, glowing flare effect. It’s perfect for creating striking portraits, artistic censorship, or adding a sci-fi or fantasy look. You can adjust the:
“Write with light. Only the keen will reveal it.”
This is our most unique feature. It allows you to create images with two layers of text:
This is perfect for creative announcements, or sharing a special note with someone you know has an HDR-capable device.
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. Think of it like the difference between a standard photograph and what your eyes see in the real world. Your eyes can perceive an incredible range of brightness, from the dark shadows under a table to the brilliant sun in the sky, all at the same time.
Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) displays, which have been the norm for decades, have a very limited brightness range. They can’t reproduce those super-bright highlights, so they “clip” them, making them appear as a flat white.
HDR displays are different. They can get significantly brighter, allowing them to show off intense highlights, specular reflections, and vibrant colors with a level of realism that SDR cannot match. This brightness is often measured in “nits,” and modern iPhone screens can produce over 1000 nits for HDR content, compared to just a few hundred for typical SDR content.
