TL;DR — First industry software engineering role. Worked inside a real enterprise codebase at Fasoo — a Korean data security company trusted by Fortune 500s — and learned what it means to ship code that actually runs in production.

THE PROBLEM

Classroom code and production code are completely different things. I needed to understand real software engineering — version control discipline, legacy systems, QA processes, working in an actual team.

MY ROLE

Software engineering intern at Fasoo's Global division (Summer 2022). Built and automated features within their enterprise DRM/data security platform. First exposure to working across time zones with Korean HQ while based in the US.

Act 1. The foundation. Before I could build AI products, I needed to understand how software products are built at all. Fasoo gave me that. The discipline of engineering rigor I picked up here carried into every subsequent role.
