Sum Fun – Casual Puzzle Game UX
Original game project: Designed and tested UI flows for a math-puzzle with a unique “last-digit” twist. Focus on clarity, cognitive load reduction, and fun onboarding.

Problem
Casual-Math Games risk overwhelming players with abstract logic. Standard puzzle UIs often lack clarity, slowing down onboarding and reducing fun.
Outcome
- Designed a clean UI layout emphasizing number hierarchy and the unique “last-digit” twist.
- Built interaction flows in Unity that allowed players to quickly grasp rules without tutorials.
- Balanced difficulty curve by testing iterations on readability and input pacing.
Learnings
- Cognitive load in math-based games must be minimized with strong visual anchoring.
- Simple, iterative feedback loops increase retention and replayability.
- Original twists (here: last-digit mechanic) gain more traction when tightly supported by UI clarity.
