About us: Life School's mission is to make life better, one new skill at a time.
- We do this by teaching short courses on life skills (e.g., Cooking, Cleaning, Home Maintenance, Gardening, Personal Finance, Career, Productivity, DIY).
- Our students are curious, busy, & motivated to learn.
- Lessons are presented in a standardized TLDR style, ~two min each.
- Structure & research are our obsessions. Topics are heavily-analyzed, vetted by leading professionals, and spiffed up by editors (both human & AI).
- Lessons are accompanied by audio recordings. Video demonstrations are included where helpful.
- Life School is pre-seed funded by Precursor Ventures, Craft Ventures, Quiet Capital, and a few angels. It is led by founder Michelle Tandler.
Role Overview: As employee #1 you will have a tremendous impact on the creation of this company & plenty of opportunity to lead. Some sample work-streams will likely include:
- Research: participate in research & writing of lessons and scripts. Ultimately lead the scaling of our research and writing team.
- Growth: ideate & experiment to grow our user base; experiment with different paid channels (e.g., Facebook & Google Ads) & community-based marketing (e.g., Reddit).
- Analytics: analyze stats & develop insights that drive product development & growth
- Operations: create scalable systems to support content development (e.g., written lessons, audio recordings, video production)
- Account Management: support partner organizations (e.g., schools, employers); lay groundwork for future enterprise sales team
