"Stop/Why Stop" Practice
Stop!
Every member has the right and duty to declare a "Stop" if they sense an immediate
risk to people, operational safety, purpose, organizational values, or something else important.
Why Stop?
Once the "Stop" has been declared, all discussion and actions must stop immediately.
Then any other member asks the member "Why Stop"
- The "Stop" member must then articulate to the best and most concise of their ability what they are seeing or sensing, and what they propose should happen.
- Continue, Course Correction, or Mark-It
The group then senses in whether its safe to continue, whether an immediate
course correction is needed, or if this is a Mark-It situation.
- If group alignment is not obtained in a timely manner, then SourcePoint, Integration Coordinator, Steward, or Meeting Facilitator (in that order) has the final say for the Good
of the Whole. [This still needs to be refined]
