Productivity - Effectiveness - Efficiency

Is what I am doing / have done paying off in terms of achieving my goals?

Imagine you are given the task of cutting down a tree.

What conclusions can you draw from this for your personal actions?

Is what I'm doing really the best and fastest way to reach my goal, or am I just doing anything to feel good about having done something?

Personally, I catch myself in the productivity stage every now and then.

Yes, it's great, you go to bed at night and say to yourself it was a great day, I've worked 12 hours and I'm a bit closer to my goal again. The good feeling of having done something is deceptive, because even if you throw the saw against the tree for 12 hours a day for 1 year, it certainly won't cut the tree down.

How can you tell if you are doing the right thing, or on the right path?

It's actually quite simple: Has anything changed in real terms in the last 4 - 8 weeks as a result of what you're doing? Are you closer to your idea, have you generated new customers, has your account balance changed positively?
