Mission

Stemnova, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2017, is dedicated to giving K-12 students from all socioeconomic backgrounds access to interdisciplinary, project-based STEM education. We achieve this through afterschool learning programs, seminars with scientists and professors, and science competitions.

Since our conception, we have reached over 6,500 students across the United States and partnered with organizations like Ward’s Science and UC Berkeley’s Academic Talent Development Program.

Through our programs, we have collaborated with Lily Mei (Mayor of Fremont, CA), Vivian Lee (President of Google's Verily Health Platforms), and professors from Stanford, Harvard, MIT, and more.

Our Team

We are a highly dedicated, creative team of 16 college students from USC, UCLA, Penn, JHU, Yale, Dartmouth and UIUC. After noticing the lack of free, high-quality science resources in primary and secondary education, Stemnova was born.

Goals

COVID-19 has highlighted the endemic inequity of STEM education in communities across the country and world.

To increase our efforts addressing the lack of affordable access to science learning, Stemnova is launching our interactive Urban Sustainability Program in 2021. We are looking for passionate, genuine, and energetic high school students to join our team and help us spread impact and the grassroots STEM education movement!
