The 411:

Stem pitches releases to Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Pandora, Spotify, TIDAL, Youtube Music, and more using the information you submit to us via our pitch form. Due to bandwidth at the DSPs, we are not able to receive direct feedback for releases but when our team does have specific editorial updates we will reach out directly.

Deadlines:

You should submit a pitch via the Stem Editorial Submission Form at least three weeks in advance of the release date. We pitch for Friday store turns. If your release is coming out off-cycle (meaning, not on a Friday), you should pitch at least three weeks in advance of the soonest Friday after your release date. If you do not have three weeks lead time we recommend you submit a pitch no later than 10 days in advance of the release date.

Important:

Spotify offers their own playlist pitching tool directly to artists, and this is the most important way to pitch your music for Spotify-curated playlist consideration. You should submit this 7-14 days in advance using the Spotify for Artists playlist submission tool. (More info)

Long Lead Planning:

We have regular proactive conversations with the DSPs regarding editorial and larger opportunities which range from 3 weeks - 6 months out. These include conversations surrounding moments (i.e. Holidays, Pride programming, Black Music Month, AAPI Month, etc.). Please submit any long term tentative release dates to this form (you may edit this submission as dates/details change).
