A short overview of CP presence in the Web. Good to get actionable tasks out of it (where to be more present, what blogs to contact, what searches to target...)
Generally, I think we can distill these core actions to take:
- Be more present on any instance mentioning CP and actively replying to questions/proving "badmouthers" wrong.
- Contact the Blogs and Instances that talk about "Alternatives of WordPress" to get CP on their lists.
- Create more CP Sites/Bring more "big players" on board.
- Build an active community around ClassicPress.
As of May 15, 2021, ClassicPress is not widely used and the main issue for people to switch (to me) seem these:
- People are afraid it won't be maintained in future.
- People rely on many plugins and themes that are either not or unclear if working with CP.
- People don't have access to reliable and official resource (like Docs).
A few stats
- ClassicPress is already used on more "heavy traffic" websites than Wix and SquareSpace which are both well known CMS.
