I construct systems in which form emerges through material phase transitions and human interaction.

In Phase–Mediated Drawing, the melting of ice regulates the dispersion of pigment, while the intervention of two participants introduces local interactions.

The resulting forms are not composed, but fixed through the irreversible process of phase transition.

Phase–Mediated Drawingでは、氷の融解が顔料の拡散を制御し、二者の介入によって局所的な相互作用が生じる。

生成される形態は、相転移の不可逆な過程を通じて固定される。

Procedure

1. Define the initial conditions, including the mass and placement of the ice, optional salt, and the length, holding position, and color of the watercolor pencils.

2. Establish contact between the watercolor pencils and the ice.

3. Two or more agents (not limited to humans) introduce subtle, uncoordinated gestures and pressure.

4. As the ice undergoes phase transition, pigment disperses across the paper.

5. The drawing emerges and is fixed through this irreversible process.

6. 氷の質量や配置、必要に応じた塩、水彩鉛筆の長さ・保持位置・色などの初期条件を設定する。

7. 水彩鉛筆を氷に接触させる。

8. 二者以上の主体（人間に限らない）が、計画されない微細な操作と圧力を与える。
