Summary:

Introduction

"An entrepreneur is someone who will jump off a cliff and assemble an airplane on the way down" - Reid Hoffman, Founder of Linkedin

This is a collection of impactful best practices to launch and run a startup. Building a startup is extremely hard and Reid Hoffman's quote above perfectly illustrates that. The goal of this library is to arm you with you with the ecosystem’s “Tribal Knowledge”. In return, this will help to free up the time for you to figure out the innovative solutions to the "hard problem" instead of the "standard problem" that most founders encounter, reducing friction to your success. Most of the best practices outlined here were sourced from the best operators and investors with significant experience in high growth startups such as Coinbase, Stripe, Airbnb, Linkedin, Uber, etc.

How to Use This Library:

Page navigation:

This page is divided based on corporate functions (HR, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Leadership) to allow easy page navigation, although, in reality, the tasks require cross-functional teams to work together. Each corporate function is further divided into several sections (i.e.- HR function includes hiring, culture, performance management, etc. sections). Besides, the "About" function will inform you more about the library, its database, and about me. You can jump between each section by clicking the header of the section at the top of this page. Besides, you can use the search function for easy page navigation (hit Ctrl/⌘ + P on your keyboard).

Resources pages:

Each arrow represents a toggle list. You may hover and click the arrow to expand the list of the resources. Next, clicking the resource that you would like to read will lead you to a new page on that particular resource. You may also find the original link and the resource's highlights on the page. These highlights can be a summary of the link, a template, or a video.

The Most Important Thing

You may find the library overwhelming. But, I always get back to Fred Wilson's advice, that ultimately your role as a CEO is to:

With that in mind, I try to highlight the top 3 resources that you should read before going through this library. You may find these resources in the toggle list above. Last but not least, you may compliment this library with the existing great resources out there such as:
