Addis Koeck

Based in Leuven, Belgium, Addis Koeck joined the ETO Directorate in October 2024 as Financial Coordinator. With a background that combines a Master in Business Economics and a Bachelor in Electromechanical Engineering, Addis brings both financial and technical expertise to the team.

What Addis enjoys most about working for ETO is the dynamic environment, where challenges quickly turn into opportunities to make a real impact — and no two days are the same. Over the past year, he has played a key role in strengthening ETO’s financial and strategic foundations. Among his main achievements:

• Created and presented the first comprehensive resource overview for the ETO Funders Group, which was well received and now serves as a reference point.
• Contributed to agreements with CERN and with Funding Agencies, coordinating with all partners to ensure timely finalisation and that ETO receives all agreed-upon deliverables.
• Supported the ESFRI Monitoring Questionnaire by drafting texts and coordinating with partners. This process is crucial to maintain and grow support from the European community of funding agencies and countries within the ESFRI forum.
• Worked on ET-COMPASS, the proposal for the new Horizon Europe INFRADEV call, focused on the early implementation phase of the Einstein Telescope.

Through these contributions, Addis helps ensure that ETO’s ambitious plans are backed by solid financial strategies and strong partnerships across Europe.
