Thesis:
Pay the forthcoming Buidl Guidl Juicebox project $20,000 USD worth of ETH, half of which will be used to sponsor a Juicebox Hackathon.
Abstract:
This proposal’s goal is to create a bounty for builders from the Buidl Guidl community to create interesting projects and integrations using scaffold-eth and Juicebox v2. 50% of the funds will be earmarked for bounty participants, while the other 50% will be allocated to an ongoing Buidl Guidl treasury, in the hopes that the BG community embraces Juicebox for future fundraising and treasury management.
Motivation:
Austin Griffith’s Buidl Guidl is a community of EVM-oriented Web3 builders. Juicebox.money itself was built as a fork of the Buidl Guidl’s renowned Web3 project starter kit, scaffold-eth.
The goal of this proposal is to encourage members of this builder community to become familiar with Juicebox v2 through their favorite activities: building and experimentation on the blockchain!
Risks:
- No one in the BG community embraces the challenge and no new interesting experiments are created.
- The BG does not find value in the JB treasury and they do not become recurring users (and proponents) of the protocol.
Specification:
- Distribute $20,000 USD worth of ETH to the Juicebox DAO multisig.
- Once the Buidl Guidl Juicebox project is created, pay that treasury using that ETH. Individuals can also contribute during the lead up to the hackathon.
- Juicebox DAO contributors will coordinate with Buidl Guidl contributors on template repos, public messaging, and promotion in advance of the hackathon from 2022-06-18 00:00 UTC to 2022-06-20 00:00 UTC.
- Specific hackathon criteria to follow. Example projects could include:
- A DIY Juicebox scaffold-eth starter kit.
- A protocol extension starter kit
- A scaffold-eth NFT branch that sends funds to a Juicebox treasury.
- An all-in-one multisig.lol + Juicebox interface (read+write)
- A buidl-guidl-centric dapp for managing the group’s treasury
- Upon completion of the hackathon, half of all funds in the Buidl Guidl treasury will be distributed to hackathon entrants. Voting percentages from a weighted Snapshot vote (using the Buidl Guidl project token) will correspond to a pro rata distribution.
- Buidl Guidl can use remaining funds in this treasury freely—to run future hackathons, to pay for ongoing development costs, or to do something else entirely.
