Introduction

Shopify is an ecommerce platform that lets you create an online store without hosting and is often used for dropshipping. Dropshipping is an attractive business model for entrepreneurs who do not want to deal with inventory or supply chain issues. Merchants fulfill orders by shipping directly from the supplier.

While starting to build out my dropshipping store, I’ve found two apps in the Shopify app store that were very helpful: Spocket and Oberlo. Let’s explore how the two apps provide a great solution for running a dropshipping store.

What is Spocket?

Spocket is a dropshipping app that lets you source products from suppliers in the US and Europe (there’s also a few merchants in New Zealand and Australia). The products are generally higher-quality than those from Aliexpress since the suppliers have to go through a strict vetting process that includes interviews and sampling. Spocket focuses on local manufacturers and Etsy artisans instead of Aliexpress. It allows for integrations with not only Shopify but also WooCommerce.

Using Spocket

1. Link Your Shopify Store

Go to the Shopify App Store and search for the Spocket Shopify App, then click the “Add App'' button. After you put in your store login info, you’ve successfully linked your store with the Spocket app. Now, it’s time to find products to market and sell.

2. Finding products to sell

To find products, you can either search for the product or filter by product type, location, shipping times, and pricing. This means that you can pick items based on where you prefer to ship from.

Spocket has an extensive collection of products, and you can choose from a variety of product categories, including:

All of Spocket’s products come with a 30-60% discount off their retail pricing, which lets you make a healthy profit margin.
