TREVNOC 02 from 《SOUND》 is a formal experiment that pushes the boundaries of genre, a renewed inquiry into the relationship between technology and art, and a practice that restores the tactile sensibilities that have faded in the digital age. In a rapidly changing technological environment, artistic creation often begins with adapting to new media. Yet the question remains: can the formal languages born of new media truly renew the realm of artistic experience?

Beginning from this question, TREVNOC 02 from 《SOUND》 is a process-based creative project that rethinks—under today’s conditions—the essence of the artistic experience: the entire arc by which artistic imagination is articulated through the properties of a medium and conveyed to an audience.

Six sound artists from WeSA took part in the project. Having primarily worked with digital media, they explored new creative possibilities that link “sound and the plane” by engaging with the slow procedures and materiality of analog print. This work unfolded through SAA (Screen Art Agency)’s Creation Residency.

Co-planned by TREVNOC and SAA, the Creation Residency TrP developed over three months as a site of intersection where the distinct artistic languages of sound art and screen printing met. Building on their own practices, the participating artists conceived TP (Trial Print) foundations for new works and developed them through diverse processes—including audio experiments using conductive materials such as graphite and copper; studies of temporality employing phosphorescent and bead pigments; and experiments in sensory mutation with heat-reactive inks and locally sourced materials.
