Speakeasy is a seed-stage startup offering interactive, online talks and workshops led by fascinating speakers and performers. Our vision is to bring the vibrancy of a university campus to you, wherever you happen to be.

We’re excited to bring on a writer / project coordinator to work with us on a part-time basis. You’ll write customer-facing copy and ensure our events run smoothly for our speakers and participants.

We've included many more details below. Ready to apply? Please fill out this brief form, and we'll follow up shortly. Thanks in advance; we look forward to hearing from you!

Speakeasy overview

Speakeasy offers online events led by fascinating experts. Our events are interactive, and we limit the number of tickets so everyone can participate in the conversation. Dozens of talented professors, authors, and performers have already hosted 50+ events through Speakeasy. Speakers have called Speakeasy their “ideal teaching experience” and find it magical to connect with our engaged community of lifelong learners.

But we’re just getting started. There are so many talented experts who are eager to share their knowledge and passions with others -- and to supplement their incomes while they’re at it. And there are people all around the world who want to learn from experts in an intimate setting. But these groups don’t currently have great ways to find each other. At Speakeasy, we’re committed to building these connections and fostering a strong community of engaged lifelong learners.

Speakeasy was founded by Elizabeth Slavitt and is funded by Bloomberg Beta and a small group of angel investors.
